Bursaries

We are pleased to offer a number of bursaries to help support travel and accommodation expenses for Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers presenting papers at the conference. These include:

Studies in Romanticism International Bursary

Studies in Romanticism is pleased to offer two bursaries for graduate students from outside the UK who are presenting at the Shelley Conference in 2024. Bursary winners will receive $1000 each toward the expense of attending the conference. 

Applications should include: 

  • CV 
  • Personal statement describing their academic work, their financial need, and their reasons for attending the Shelley Conference (maximum 300 words) 
  • 100-word abstract of the paper that they will be presenting at the Shelley Conference 

Applications should be sent directly to the Shelley Conference. The deadline for bursary applications is 15th March 2024.

British Association for Romantic Studies Travel Bursary

We are pleased to offer funding from BARS to help support travel costs for postgraduate and early career researchers presenting papers at the conference. Up to £100 will be awarded per person.

To be considered, please provide an estimate of your travel costs and indicate any other sources of funding that you have secured. Priority will be given to those without other funding opportunities.

Applications should be sent directly to the Shelley Conference. The deadline for bursary applications is 15th March 2024.

If you wish to be considered for any of our bursaries, please include ‘Bursary’ in the subject of your proposal.
